Five places, one of them fully funded. Five because the weekly hour is only the visible part: around it there is a plan to build and rewrite as the student changes. In this first year I would rather do that properly for five than adequately for fifteen.
01 / Why a deadline
Most tutoring works like a shop: you buy an hour, and if it does not work you buy it somewhere else. Fine for trigonometry before a test. Wrong for a mind that has spent years being told it is bright but not applying itself.
What changes things is time, and someone who still remembers in March what went wrong in October. So the school year is the unit.It opens twice: now for September, again in November for January.
In practice
The families who ask can we just try one session are usually the ones who have already tried eleven single sessions somewhere else.
02 / The process

You apply in writing. Five minutes. What you write in your own words tells me more than any form field could.

I read it myself and reply within two days, either way. If it is not a fit I will say so, and point you somewhere better.

A thirty-minute interview, by private invitation. Either of us can say no, and saying no is a normal outcome.

Seventy-five minutes of teaching with the student, then a written plan built around what that session shows. It is how the decision is made on both sides. It happens before a place is confirmed and does not by itself confirm one.
03 / Criteria
I don't test IQ. I look at the whole person. Admission considers several factors together: motivation, problem-solving ability, prior work, teacher recommendations, an interview with the student and family, and, where a family already has one, a cognitive assessment carried out and interpreted elsewhere by a qualified professional.
A diagnosis is not required, and it is not an advantage. Many students who belong here have never been assessed by anyone. What matters is the pattern: a mind that is clearly capable, and a school experience that does not show it.
This is an educational programme, not a clinical one. I do not diagnose, I do not assess clinically, and I will not ask you to send me reports.
04 / Fit
Your child is gifted, twice-exceptional, or somewhere in that territory, with or without a label.
School is not reflecting what you see at home.
You have tried tutoring before and it did not hold.
You are thinking in school years, not in weeks.
You are looking for a diagnosis or an evaluation. That is a job for a qualified clinician, and I am happy to say so.
You need a specific grade fixed before December. That can be done, but not by me, and not like this.
You want someone to sit with your child while they do their homework.
Your family is in acute crisis right now. Something more immediate and more clinical will help more than I can.
On saying no
Being told early that this is not the right teaching is more use to a student than being given a place that was never going to fit.
05 / Terms
Five. Four fee-paying and one fully funded, and you can apply for both.

Week of 14 September 2026.
Online, one weekly session at a fixed time, Monday to Friday.
Applying costs nothing. For applicants taken this far, $500 once: seventy-five minutes of teaching with the student, and the written plan that comes out of it. It happens before a place is confirmed and does not by itself confirm one.
$1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 per month, depending on the plan agreed after the educational baseline. About $10,500 to $30,500 over a school year, educational baseline included. You commit one term at a time, September to January and then February to June, and you are billed monthly rather than up front.
Applying early is welcome. It does not reserve a place, and it does not move the date.
Your entry rate stays yours for as long as you stay in the programme, including through future increases. You are joining before there is a track record to point at, and that should be worth something concrete.
One of the five places is funded in full for the year, educational baseline included. That is twenty percent of the cohort, starting now rather than at some comfortable point in the future. Apply for it and the fee-paying places together: asking does not weaken your case. Tell me in a few lines why the fee is the obstacle. I will not ask for documents.
Applications for the January cohort open on 1 November and close on 15 December.

About five minutes. Take your time over the last question — it is the one I read first.
Before you start
Please do not include your child's name, date of birth, school name, or any medical, diagnostic or psychological information — and please do not upload or paste reports. This is an educational programme, not a clinical service. I do not need any of it to decide whether to invite you to an interview, and I would rather not hold it. We will talk about your child properly at interview.
07 / After you apply
I read applications myself, not in batches, and reply within two days either way. Applications close on 31 August, and the five places are decided after that date. The year starts the week of 14 September.
