Book a session.

Two things are open now: a free introductory call, and individual sessions booked one at a time. The academic-year programme is separate, and its applications reopen on 1 November. If the student is under 18, the parent books and is the person I contract with.

What a session is for

Mathematics, statistics and quantitative subjects, at school or university level. Method and study strategies for students who understand the material and lose it somewhere between understanding it and handing it in. Often both in the same hour, which is usually what actually happens.

How payment works

You book the time first and I send a payment link to confirm it. The introductory call is free and carries no obligation on either side.

Start here if you are not sure what you need. We talk about what is going on with the work and whether I am the right person for it. Nothing to prepare, and saying no is a normal outcome.

One session, on whatever is in front of you. Online, one to one, on an iPad so the working is written out and stays yours. Sessions are booked one at a time and I do not hold a recurring weekly slot: that belongs to the programme.

Part of the programme, not of a single session. The student works with me for the session, and the written plan that follows is built around what it shows. It comes before a place is confirmed and does not by itself confirm one.

One weekly session at a fixed, reserved time, plus a written plan, materials and contact between sessions. This is not more hours than a session: it is a different thing, and the hour is the smallest part of it. Applications reopen on 1 November.

02 / Before the call

Nothing to prepare, three things worth thinking about before the call.

Where the student is now — subject, year, and the specific thing that keeps going wrong rather than the general sense that something is.

What has already been tried, and what happened. Previous tutoring that did not work is useful information, not an embarrassment.

What you would want to be true in a year. Not a target grade — what the student should be able to do.

Note to self

The student is welcome on the call and does not have to speak. Sitting in silence while adults discuss you is its own kind of information.

Or write instead of calling.

Some families would rather set it out in writing, and often that produces a clearer picture than a first conversation does. Please do not include the student's name, date of birth or any medical or diagnostic information here.

How sessions run

Online, one to one, with an iPad used as a shared writing surface so the working stays visible. Individual sessions are booked one at a time; the fixed weekly slot belongs to the programme.

On the fees

An individual session is $150, paid per session. The introductory call is free. The programme has three plans — $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 a month — and which one fits is decided after the educational baseline, not before. You commit one term at a time and are billed monthly.
